In a statement released by the old students of Bright Senior High School, the old students describe the basis on which the traditional council of the Akyem-Abuakwa demanded the school’s closure is unjustifiable and sought to defame the school.
The old students of the school although condemned the behaviour of the current candidates of the WASSCE as “terribly demeaning and uncalled for”,rejected a number of claims and allegations by the Akyem-Abuakwa Traditional Council.
The Traditional council in an earlier statement called for the closure of the said school following the display of violence on August 5 when some students attacked and beat invigilators and a journalist in the ongoing exams. In the statement calling for for the closure of the school, the council also stated that many who have completed Bright Senior High School are unable to go beyond level 100 or first year in public universities which the old students of the school describe as mere accusation and expression of opinions”.
